Canadian Defence Procurement

Succeeding in the Era of Cybersecurity
Professional Workshop
July 9, 2020

This session explored the federal procurement model as an evolving government enterprise. With a focus on industry-wide transformations that occurred in response to significant changes the government implemented in federal defence procurement. The session also explored how industry must continue to adapt as global defence and security become more entwined with cyber technologies and systems.

This conference examined how astute companies leverage components of federal procurement to their own advantage. Government and industry executives discovered how these corporate behaviours are reshaping the Canadian defence and security industrial base, and how this alignment impacts Canada’s ability to carry out future defence programs including Cyber.

Experts from industry, government, and academia attended this thoughtful exploration of the evolving role cyber plays in government procurement and contracting.

We also explored the impact on industry’s capacity to successfully deliver programs in an effective and timely manner.
